When women come together, they create a movement!!

When women come together we create a movement! An Avalanche. That is exactly what happened today at The Adia Nelah (Queens with a Purpose) Women’s Networking Event.

This day was made possible by the vision and passion of two ladies. Rozanne Collings, an entrepreneur, brand affiliate, mother of 2 and a wife. She is passionate about personal, social and business development. The Women’s Networking event was a concept she has been wanting to do for years and realized the time is now. She wants to see women reach their full potential and make meaningful connections that propel each other forward. The collaboration with She of the Fire and 11yearsofnappies brought together elements she could not have achieved on her own and this was a true testament of what women can accomplish when they root for each other. Then the second lady is, Tiffany Kayler Dlamini. She is a colored, God girl, wife and a South African theater maker who is passionate about uplifting girls and women around her. She is the co-founder of She of the fire and is a natural hair brand ambassador for Ruthie’s Beauty Emporium, an entrepreneur and an aspiring business woman. The Women’s event was to create a sisterhood and connection on a real level. A space for them to make meaningful relationships, great business connections and to start the unity that the women of South Africa need. She operates on the belief that if you have, give. Essentially bless to be a blessing and change lives. Follow both her pages @tiffani_dlamini and she.ofthefire

Women came out from all corners to network and connect. My mind was completely blown. This was my first time being a guest speaker and boy was I in my element sharing my journey and experiences as a woman, wife and mom. Never did I anticipate the positive feedback I received afterwards and these were from women of all ages. We had some networking tips and had the opportunity to play 2 games which helped us to get to know each other, which was a great ice breaker.

Some networking tips we received:

1. Take a friend with you.

2. Always network with a goal (make a new friend, learn something new, dedicate your time)

3. Know what you love. (Know your passion)

4. Find a conversation starter, identify something about the person you are talking to.

5. Follow up after making connections. Find out their best way of communication.

6. Bless to be a blessing, when you bless others, you gain those things in return.

7. Positivity breeds positivity. Avoid being negative.

These actually worked wonders. Then, we also had a 2nd speaker, Grace Storm and all I can say is WOW. She has done some Amazing things and is so Inspiring. I absolutely love her energy. Follow her on @iamgracestorm

Another great way that simply proves when women come together it truly is a movement that happens.

There is a company called Font Bundles and they’re proof that flexible working works.

Font Bundles was started by 3 friends (Alex France, Geoff Ballington and Andy Croft) on a shoestring budget with a range of skills and experience.

The company is still 100% owned by the co-founders, and self funded. The company now boasts 30 full time employees and over 4000 designers selling their products on the craft and design marketplace, Design Bundles and the font marketplace, Font Bundles.

Font Bundles Ltd is a diverse and modern company who champion diversity and flexible working. The company started and scaled without any central office by making use of the team working application Slack.

Although the company is registered in the UK, all 30 of the company’s employees work remotely and are based in over 10 different countries around the world, including its co-founders who meet up a few times a year to brainstorm and discuss growth plans.

In the last financial year, the company grossed over $10,000,000 USD in revenue, showing no signs of slowing down with the launch of several other brands and products.

That proves, the future sure is female!

Happy International Women’s Day.
