Today I deliberately ask the question because of my September Series, Dear body. I figure sometimes be so focused on the outward appearance that we forget to take care of to take care of the inside.
Do you place value on your hair, your eyes, your beautiful legs, your small waist line, your perfect boobs, your straight, white teeth, your tan, your best features? Now don’t get me wrong, our outward appearance is important, we need to look good, appreciate our not so good features and love our best features.
We need to love every inch of who you are. But. Do we pay enough attention on the inside as we do the outside?

Do we?
Self love, self awareness and self discovery makes this so easy. When you go through a self-love, self awareness journey you discover who you are, what you like what you don’t like. You discover your tolerance level, your ability to accept love and give it. You basically discover YOU.
Once you have found you, loving yourself from the inside will become so natural. Your values, your truth, your dreams, your passions, your standards all come alive. We don’t make important, life changing decisions based on our outward appearance, we make those decisions from the inside, and we can only make clear and good decisions if we know our values.nce you have found you, loving yourself from the inside will become so natural. So, I ask again what do you value most?
I grew up with a mom who placed value on hair, but I was never a long haired person so after high school I decided to cut my hair short and I loved it. Growing up I had friends who’s hair was their crown, I just could never get it. When I became a mom, I started growing my hair again purely because time was not a friend of mine but in 2010, I walked into the barbers and said cut my hair, bald. It took him a while because my hair was long he was so doubtful on my behalf, but he did and his been my barber ever since.
I grew up with family where long flowly hair made you and the fairness of your skin mattered again I was never fazed by these because somehow I was happy with who I was. After the birth of our 4th child I realized that I was lost. I didn’t know who I was. I wore the mommy hat and wife hat all the time. No woman or Individual hat? When I hit 30, I knew things had to change. I went on a find ME journey.

Little did I know that this journey would be most satisfying and I would lose a lot of people in the process including family. When you start placing value on yourself, your decision-making process becomes so easy. It is such a beautiful and liberating experience to flow from an inward perspective.
When you are made a job offer, your core values will make that decision process so easy. When you need to decide on dating someone or marrying someone, your core values is the best tool to use during the process.
Let us start to focus on our core, our values, our inside so that we can glow from the inside.
As much as a fitness instructor tells you the core of your body is the most important and needs to be the strongest in a physical aspect it is just as important in an emotional aspect the more you focus on it and work on it the stronger it becomes.
Let us get back to our core.
We matter!!
Thank you.

What a beautiful post! As a plus-size person, I am very happy with my body and myself but people constantly tell me that I cannot possibly be happy with the way I look. It is hard to stand up for yourself and your values – but it is so worth it!

From childhood, I’ve always had a desire to find out what made me tick. My love for psychology kept me looking inward. I’m thankful for that today because I have balance. I love making both the inside and outside look good! 😉
